Justice that Heals Learning Community (II)

Justice that Heals Learning Community program is currently on going. It seeks to integrate elements of trauma healing and restorative justice in peacebuilding activities and Kenyan justice system through trainings. The program has being divided into two sessions, Learning Community (I) and (II) and is being implemented in partnership with Mennonite Central committee, Kenya (MCC).

The new programme aims at offering scholarships to qualified Kenyan women from conflict affected communities to attend the Women Peacebuilding Leadership Programme at the Eastern Mennonite University.

Garissa: Trauma Awareness and Resilience

On 2nd of April 2015, Moi University at Garissa - Kenya, was attacked and under siege for 15 hours by a group of gunmen. In the end, 148 students were killed, with at least 79 reported casualties including security forces, victims and 4 gunmen.

Daima Initiatives for Peace and Development - (DiPaD) is a non-profit organization in Kenya that aims at empowering and building the capacity of communities, to be able to pro-actively respond to social change.

Our main areas of action are capacity building, training, women and youth empowerment, on violence and advocacy, and practical research on the role of culture in Peacebuilding.
